HomeAid Packs 3,000+ CareKits

HomeAid eases the burden of homelessness with 2023 provision of hygiene supplies

Atlanta – November 14, 2023 – Over the course of 2023, building industry nonprofit HomeAid Atlanta packed and distributed more than 3,000 HomeAid CareKits to provide essential hygiene items for people struggling with homelessness.  HomeAid CareKits contain items such as toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, socks, a snack, and more, items often in great need by people experiencing homelessness. While there are public safety net programs to help with access to food, there are no public programs aiding with these essential hygiene items.

More than 130 volunteers from four organizations, BOMA Georgia, Northview Church, Bank of America, and Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association (GAHBA) Young Professionals Group packed HomeAid CareKits this year.  The kits were donated to The Elizabeth Foundation, DeKalb Library Foundation, Family Promise of North Fulton/DeKalb, Intown Cares, Crossroads Community Ministries, and Project U First. These nonprofits provide outreach and supportive services for people experiencing homelessness in metro Atlanta. Thanks to HomeAid’s volunteers and donations from their organizations, CareKits provided a savings of over $30,000 toward these nonprofits’ outreach efforts in 2023.
