Affordable Housing Initiative
For over 20 years, HomeAid Atlanta has worked with the building industry and nonprofit housing providers to ensure those experiencing homelessness have a safe, temporary place to call home as they rebuild their lives. In 2022, we expanded our efforts in an effort to create permanent, affordable housing units by leveraging our position as a bridge between homebuilders, nonprofits, and the community, partnering with Leadership Atlanta, HouseATL, and Kennesaw State University's Construction Management Program.
In 2023, we continue to work with Leadership Atlanta and various municipalities on ways that we can expand our mission to contribute much-needed affordable housing throughout metro Atlanta. We have a task force working on that as well, and hope to have some concrete ways that the residential building industry can be a part of adding attainable housing opportunities for all.

The need for help is as great as ever.
The State of Homelessness: 2023 Edition, created by National Alliance to End Homelessness, uses data from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to provide an overview of the scope of homelessness in the U.S. on a given night in 2022, and illustrate emerging trends. Data in this report is pulled from HUD’s 2022 Point-in-Time (PIT) Count data, as well as Housing Inventory Count data.
Homelessness Awareness Month held during the month of November encourages participation with HomeAid.
This is a perfect time to bring greater awareness to the needs of local communities, as well as provide a way to give back and become involved with HomeAid. You only need energy and imagination to develop your own community engagement program and bring attention to our ongoing battle to end homelessness.
